When comparing apartments, it's important to look beyond advertised rent and consider the total monthly cost. Some apartment communities charge additional mandatory fees for services such as valet trash, package lockers, amenities, administration, and other resident services. At Potomac Commons, we've eliminated many of the extra fees residents may find at other communities. Water, resident parking, and trash removal are included at no additional cost, and Potomac Commons does not charge an administrative fee. This can mean a simpler monthly bill and potentially significant savings over the course of your lease.
HOW DO RESIDENTS PAY RENT ONLINE?
Residents can make payments electronically, including a free e-check option. Credit card payments are accepted, and cash payments can be made through MoneyGram.
DOES POTOMAC COMMONS OFFER FLEXIBLE RENT PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Yes! Eligible residents may have access to Flex, a third-party rent payment service that allows qualifying residents to split their monthly rent into smaller payments. WHAT IS THE APPLICATION FEE?
The application fee is $25 per applicant. Each adult applicant who will be living in the apartment or townhome must complete the required application process.
WHO NEEDS TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION?
Every person age 18 or older who will be living in the home must complete the required application process and meet applicable rental qualification requirements.
WHAT INCOME IS REQUIRED TO QUALIFY AT POTOMAC COMMONS?
Applicants must have a gross weekly income equal to at least 70% of the monthly rent for the apartment or townhome they are applying for. For example, if the monthly rent is $1,000, the applicant must gross at least $700 per week before taxes, insurance, and other deductions. As part of the application qualification process, verification of income is required. Applicants will also complete a credit and criminal background check.
WHAT ARE THE RENTAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS?
Potomac Commons evaluates applicants using several qualification criteria. The application process includes credit and criminal background screening, verification of income, proof of employment, and financial qualification.
IS A SECURITY DEPOSIT REQUIRED?
Yes. At Potomac Commons, security deposit is required. The specific amount can depend on the applicant's screening results and the specific apartment or townhome being leased.
ARE GUARANTORS ACCEPTED?
Potomac Commons accepts qualified guarantors when applicable. A guarantor must complete the required application and meet the community’s guarantor qualification criteria.
IS RENTERS INSURANCE REQUIRED?
Yes. Renters insurance is a resident responsibility at Potomac Commons. Residents should arrange the required coverage before move-in and maintain coverage throughout their lease.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR A HOME TOUR OF POTOMAC COMMONS?
